Stejjer ta’ ħmieġ: il-PL obbligat jaġixxi

Ġaladarba Joseph Muscat, iffaċċjat bl-istejjer ta’ ħmieġ baqa’ m’għamel xejn għajr li jistaħba wara inkjesta bil-Maġistrat li donnha m’hi se tispiċċa qatt, Alternattiva Demokratika qed tappella lil dawk ta’ rieda tajba fil-Partit Laburista biex jieħdu l-inizzjattiva huma u jibdew it-tindifa tant meħtieġa tal-partit.

Dan qalu Carmel Cacopardo Chairperson ta’ Alternattiva Demokratika huwa u jikkummenta fuq l-aħħar informazzjoni li ħarġet dwar Konrad Mizzi, Keith Schembri u Nexia BT. Ir-rapporti fil-medja internazzjonali u lokali dwar iċ-ċaqlieq ta’ flejjes sostanzjali bejn kontijiet bankarji fid-Dubai, is-Seychelles, Malta u l-Panama jikkonfermaw dak li ilu jingħad f’Malta wara r-rivelazzjonijiet ta’ Daphne Caruana Galizia fil-kitbiet tagħha tul l-24 xahar qabel ma nqatlet.

Joseph Muscat għandu r-responsabbilta’ politika li jaġxxi biex ma jħallix isem il-pajjiż ikompli jitħammeg bil-konsegwenza li titrema l-baħar ir-reputazzjoni li dawk ta’ qabilna bnew b’tant sagrifiċċju.

Lil’hinn minn responsabbiltajiet kriminali li jistgħu jkunu stabiliti meta xi darba l-istituzzjonijiet jitħallew jaħdmu b’serenita’, il-Partit Laburista ukoll għandu l-obbligu li jaġixxi malajr kemm jista’ jkun. Għax il-Partit Laburista ukoll irid jiffaċċja din is-siegħa ta’ prova, jekk tgħallem il-lezzjonijiet tal-passat temm jgħid Carmel Cacopardo.

PL is duty bound to clean party; Keith Schembri and Konrad Mizzi a stain on party

Since Joseph Muscat is failing to act even when faced with reports of the dirty dealings of his close collaborators, and insists on hiding behind an inquiry by a Magistrate, which seems stuck, AD is appealing to those of goodwill in the Labour Party to take action and begin the much needed clean up of their party.

AD Chairperson Carmel Cacopardo commented on the latest information released about Konrad Mizzi, Keith Schembri and Nexia BT. Reports in the international and local media shed more light on the movement of substantial amounts of money between bank accounts in Dubai, the Seychelles, Malta and Panama. These reports confirm what had been revealed by Daphne Caruana Galizia in her writings in the 24 months before her assassination.

Muscat has a political responsibility to act to prevent further damage to the country’s reputation, a reputation built over the years with so much sacrifice by the Maltese people.

Beyond criminal responsibilities that may be established once the country’s institutions are functioning properly, the Labour Party is also duty bound to act as quickly as possible. The Labour Party should take decisive action since Joseph Muscat is failing to act. If it does not take action it means that it has not learnt any lessons from the past, concluded Carmel Cacopardo.
