Alternattiva Demokratika – The Green party shows its support to the team of Unifaun Theatre Productions for the hearing of their appeal of Stitching.

Yvonne Arqueros Ebejer, AD Deputy Chairperson, said that “Art should never be censored. It is a shame that an artistic piece of work like Stitching by Anthony Nielsen, produced all over Europe including Turkey, with no censorship problems whatsoever, was banned from being performed in Malta. One need only mention that whilst in Malta the play was banned, in Britain it was rated 14”.

Michael Briguglio, AD Chairperson, said that “Alternattiva Demokratika – the Green party reiterates its position for the modernisation of censorship laws as befits a modern democracy. Unfortunately no other political party has the courage to agree with this proposal.”
