Alternattiva Demokratika – the Green Party is urging the Maltese government to strongly condemn the Syrian regime led by Bashar al-Assad.

Prof. Arnold Cassola, AD spokesperson on EU and International Affairs, stated that “the Syrian government has turned against its own people and is committing horrendous atrocities on innocent and unarmed civilians, including senior citizens, women and children. The Maltese government should use all its influence in the EU and the UN to bring about a strong condemnation of the brutal and heartless Assad regime.”

Michael Briguglio, AD Chairperson said that “AD supports the democratic opposition forces in Syria and other countries led by brutal dictatorships, and urges the EU to actively support them.”
