Il-klima politika li qed tiżviluppa fil-pajjiż qed twassal għal ħsara rreparabbli għar-reputazzjoni internazzjonali tal-pajjiż u iktar minn hekk qed ikunu mminati l-istituzzjonijiet tal-pajjiż li diġa huma dgħajfa. Dan qalu Carmel Cacopardo Chairperson ta’ Alternattiva Demokratika fi tmiem laqgħa li saret iktar kmieni illum mal-Partit Nazzjonalista.
Delegazzjoni ta’ Alternattiva Demokratika mmexxija miċ-Chairperson Carmel Cacopardo, u magħmula wkoll minn Mario Mallia (Deputat Chairperson), Ralph Cassar (Segretarju Ġenerali) u Colette Sciberras (kelliema għall-Politika Soċjali) ltaqgħet ma’ delegazzjoni tal-Partit Nazzjonalista mmexxija mill-Kap tal-partit Adrian Delia.
Fil-laqgħa li saret fuq talba ta’ Alternattiva Demorkatika ġiet diskussa l-qagħda politika u l-ħtieġa li tissejjaħ Konvenzjoni Kostituzzjonali biex tindirizza mhux biss il-qagħda tal-istituzzjonijiet imma wkoll diversi problemi kostituzzjonali li ilhom jakkumulaw tul is-snin.

AD discusses longstanding institutional and constitutional problems
The current political climate in the country is leading to reputational problems for the country in the international arena. The country’s already weak institutions are being weakened further. Carmel Cacopardo expressed this opinion after a meeting earlier today with the Nationalist Party.
An AD delegation led by AD Chairperson Carmel Cacopardo and consisting of Deputy Chairperson Mario Mallia, Secretary General Ralph Cassar and spokesperson on social policy Colette Sciberras discussed the current political situation with Nationalist Party leader Adrian Delia and his delegation.
During the meeting, held on AD’s request, the political situation and the need for a Constitutional Convention were discussed. AD believes that the convention is necessary to find solutions to strengthen the state’s institutions and to tackle issues and problems with the constitution which have been ignored throughout the years.
