Għall-okkażjoni tal-Malta Pride March 2025 ġewwa l-Belt Valletta, ADPD – The Green Party jesprimi l-appoġġ tiegħu għall-komunitajiet LGBTQI+ f’Malta u madwar id-dinja. Il-viżjoni ta’ ADPD għall-ġejjeni tal-LGBTQI+ hija msejsa fuq it-tielet pilastru tal-viżjoni ħadra tagħna, hekk kif imfissra fid-dokument “Green Vision 2050” – “Lil hinn mill-Individwaliżmu – Insaħħu l-komunità u l-edukazzjoni.” 

Is-Segretarju Ġenerali ta’ ADPD-The Green Party Ralph Cassar spjega:”Fil-viżjoni tagħna, il-persuni m’humiex sempiċiment parti mill-makkinarju tal-ekonomija iżda naturalment għandhom sehem attiv f’soċjetà tassew inklussiva – sehem  li jippermettilhom li jipprogressaw u jikbru. Dan mhux possibbli jekk l-identità ta’ persuna titrażżan. Huwa importanti li ż-żgħażagħ jitrawmu f’ambjent fejn jistgħu jsemmgħu leħinhom u li fih iħossuhom milqugħin. Hemm bżonn li l-identità tagħhom, partikolarment dik tal-ġeneru u tal-orjentazzjoni sesswali tagħhom tiġi mħaddna mingħajr ebda ġudizzju. Hemm bżonn li jingħataw kull opportunità sabiex jesploraw u jifhmu min tassew huma, f’komunitajiet li jilqgħuhom filwaqt li jipprovdu opportunitajiet ta’ tagħlim u edukazzjoni.” 

Iċ-Chairperson ta’ ADPD-The Green Party Sandra Gauci saħqet:”Lil hinn mill-edukazzjoni formali, nisħqu dwar il-ħtieġa ta’ spazji aċċessbli u mhux kummerċjali fil-komunità – fost l-oħrajn, il-libreriji pubbliċi għandhom ikunu inklussivi u mgħammra tajjeb b’letteratura u materjal siewi dwar temi LGBTQI+ li jgħodd għall-etajiet kollha. Sabiex negħlbu l-mibegħda u l-firda, huwa ta’ ħtieġa li l-komunità toħloq okkażjonijiet ta’ djalogu u ftehim, u b’hekk naslu għal kultura ta’ rispett fejn kulħadd huwa milqugħ.

Dan hu l-ġejjieni li ADPD – The Green Party jistinka għalih. Ġejjieni li fih, l-edukazzjoni tissaħħaħ u kull individwu jingħata l-opportunità jtejjeb il-qagħda tiegħu fis-soċjetà. Ġejjieni li jwassal għal parteċipazzjoni akbar fil-komunità, titjib fis-saħħa u anqas vjolenza. Skejjel, postijiet tax-xogħol u komunitajiet tassew inklussivi, iwasslu għall-ġid tas-soċjetà kollha.”

Pride 2025 – When schools, workplaces, and communities are truly inclusive, society as a whole benefits 

Ahead of this afternoon’s Malta Pride 2025 march in Valletta, ADPD-The Green Party proudly stands as an ally of the rainbow communities in Malta and around the world. Our vision for the future of LGBTQI+ communities is rooted in Pillar 3 of our Green Vision 2050: “Beyond Individualism: Strengthening Community and Education.”

ADPD-The Green Party Secretary General Ralph Cassar said:”This vision sees people not as mere cogs in the economic machine, but as active participants in society. A truly inclusive society enables full participation through education systems that allow people to flourish, something that cannot happen when a person’s identity is oppressed. It is essential that young people grow up in environments where they feel a strong sense of belonging, ownership, and voice. Their identities, particularly those related to gender and sexual orientation, must be embraced without judgment, and they must be given the space to explore who they are in safe, welcoming educational communities.”

ADPD-The Green Party Chairperson Sandra Gauci added:”Beyond formal education, we also champion the importance of accessible, non-commercial community spaces. Public libraries, for example, should be well-resourced and inclusive, offering up-to-date literature and materials on LGBTQI+ topics that are appropriate for all ages. Community-led initiatives that foster dialogue and meaningful connection are equally vital to counter hate and division, and to promote a culture of respect and understanding.

This is the future ADPD – The Green Party works for, one with stronger education outcomes, greater civic engagement, improved social mobility, better health, and lower levels of violence. When schools, workplaces, and communities are truly inclusive, society as a whole benefits.”
