F’dax-xahar ta’ Diċembru nfakkru l-memorja tal-ġrajjiet traġiċi li ħadu l-ħajja ta’ żgħażagħ innocenti, Raymond Caruana nhar il-5 ta’ Diċembru 1986, u Karin Grech nhar il-28 ta’ Diċembru 1977.

Brian Decelis, PRO, f’isem ADPD-The Green Party qal:”Tajjeb li nibqgħu nżommu għajnejna miftuħa għall-intolleranza, il-mibgħeda u l-vjolenza, inkluż dik mxerrda bl-internet u l-media soċjali. Dawn il-ġrajjiet għandhom jibqgħu jiġu mfakkra biex ma ninsewx li d-demokrazija vera trid tkun ibbażata fuq djalogu u diskussjoni, mhux fuq it-tribaliżmu bla sens. Il-vjolenza u l-mibgħeda, fi kwalunkwe forma, qatt ma għandha ssir mezz biex xi politiċi, partiti jew gruppi jirbħu l-punti minn fuq dahar min huwa differenti.”

December – a month of remembrance of the political assassinations of Raymond Caruana and Karin Grech

In December we remember the tragic events that led to the loss of two young innocent lives, Raymond Caruana on 5 December 1986, and Karin Grech on 28 December 1977.

ADPD-The Green Party PRO Brian Decelis said:”These events are a stark reminder that intolerance, hatred and violence, including online hate, remain real threats, and can escalate into criminal acts. These anniversaries are not just a matter of history, they demand that as a society we stay alert. Democracy must rest on dialogue and debate, not tribalism or “us vs them”. Violence and hatred, in any form, must never be tolerated. No politician, party or group should fan the flames of hatred.”
