ba0933ab62

The Greens/EFA group in the European Parliament will be closely following all the hearings with commissioners-designate over the coming week. We have put together a comprehensive package to ensure the assessment and evaluation by our MEPs is accessible to as a wide an audience as possible.

Every day, you can find an overview of all the hearings, including the Greens/EFA members who will pose questions at the respective hearings, at the following URL: www.commissionertest.eu

Please do not hesitate to contact those members directly before or after the hearings for comments or ask us to help you connect with them. The Greens/EFA group has set up a blog covering our analysis of the Commission appointment process. www.commissionertest.eu

This blog will be updated over the coming week with posts from our MEPs evaluating some of the key hearings with commissioners-designate. It already includes posts with the initial impressions on specific candidate commissioners and the overall proposals.

We will be live tweeting from all hearings via our twitter account https://twitter.com/GreensEP – you will find quotes and questions from our MEPs, as well as retweets.

You can find our group’s initial reaction to Jean-Claude Juncker’s proposals at: http://www.greens-efa.eu/new-eu-commission-12696.html

Our group will send a press release with our overall assessment after the hearings following their conclusion.

You can also find details of letters sent by our group to president-elect Juncker:

– expressing our concern with regard to commissioner-designate Cañete’s suitability for the post of Energy and Climate Action Commissioner: http://www.greens-efa.eu/european-commission-appointment-12803.html

– highlighting our criticisms of the political direction outlined by Jean-Claude Juncker and the lack of a focus on sustainable development or the environment: http://www.greens-efa.eu/sustainability-and-the-environment-under-team-juncker-12826.html
