Following the defeat of the government’s budget in parliament Michael Briguglio, AD Chairperson, said: “AD has consistently called for a general election ever since the PN parliamentary majority was in doubt, as this can help reduce the current uncertainty. In the meantime, Malta has been in election mode for many months, suffocating civil society and tiring everyone in the process. Unfortunately it seems that the budget was proposed for political reasons rather than for sustainable fiscal policy, social justice and environmental protection. Such partisan games should stop.”
