EU report on Migration: AD disappointed

With reference to the EU Commission’s report on migration in the Mediterranean, Alternattiva Demokratika Chairperson, Prof. Arnold Cassola, said: “While certain progress has been achieved regarding the situation of failed asylum seekers, we are very disappointed that there is absolutely no mention of the revision of the Dublin III regulations and of responsibility/burden sharing in this report. The European Greens are fully committed towards these two aims. It is now the duty of Prime Minister Muscat and Opposition Leader Busuttil to persuade their egotistic Prime Minister colleagues in the European Socialist Party and the EPP to follow the Greens in their duty to help small frontier nations like Malta.”

B’riferenza għar-rapport tal-Unjoni Ewropea dwar il-migrazzjoni fil-Mediterran, iċ-Chairperson ta’ Alternattiva Demokratika, il-Prof. Arnold Cassola, qal: “Waqt li sar xi progress rigward dawk il-persuni li ma jikkwalifikawx għall-ażil, aħna diżappuntati ħafna li ma jissemma’ xejn dwar ir-reviżjoni ta’ Dublin III u r-responsibility u burden sharing.  Il-Ħodor Ewropej huma totalment kommessi għal dawn iż-żewg għanjiet. Huwa issa d-dmir tal-Prim Ministru Muscat u tal-Kap tal-Oppożizzjoni Busuttil li jipperswadu l-kollegi Prim Ministri egoisti tagħhom fil-Partit Ewropej Soċjalista u fl-EPP biex isegwu lill-Ħodor Ewropej fid-dmir tagħhom li jgħinu pajjiżi żgħar fuq il-fruntiera bħal ma hi Malta.”
