David Camilleri, Alternattiva Demokratika activist and AD candidate for Gozo in the last general elections, was first insulted and then assaulted in Nadur yesterday night by two young hunters from Qala.

After having been insulted, Camilleri was punched in the stomach by one of the two youngsters. When Camilleri tried to defend himself, the second hunter pounced on to him too and the two proceeded to beat him up.

Camilleri had to go to the Gozo hospital to be treated for light injuries sustained. A report has been lodged with the police in Nadur.
